I currently have two oracle cards sitting on my desk, – Release and Manifest. They have been there all week as they are reminding me of what I need to focus on at the moment.
Releasing is such a powerful gift we can give to ourselves. The act of releasing is referring to letting go of that which no longer serves you. It could be the act of forgiveness, either forgiving others or forgiving yourself. It could be the releasing yourself from the expectations you had on your life plan. If could be releasing yourself from a toxic relationship – which could be a partner or a friend. It could be releasing yourself from your parent’s expectations of your life. It could be so many things, this list I have just provided is really just a few examples.
Take a moment, grab a pen and a journal, and ask yourself – what do I need to release myself from? Just write, without judgement or questioning your words, let it freely flow. This acknowledgement of what you need to release, is a moment of removal. I remember one time, I did this exercise when my anxiety levels where high, my brain was in constant overdrive, the top of my page started with “everything I am scared of”. I wrote, and I cried, I wrote, I cried. I filled three pages in my journal that time, I was exhausted at the end, I had just poured every ounce of myself onto these pages. I was drained. I turned the page. I went to bed. I do not remember majority of what I wrote down, I had the intention to free myself of these thoughts and I I felt so incredibly emotionally lighter the next day because of it.
There are times you need to release yourself, from people, from thoughts, from situations, from behaviours. This may not always be the easiest path to go on. It may stir emotions you thought you had buried as it may bring old wounds to the surface. It is the journey we are on, one were reflect on what is no longer in our best interest and create the space in our lives to recognise this so we are able to move ourselves forward.
(Day Twenty-Seven: My focus for the month of April, is to blog everyday. I am setting aside 30 minutes at the end of the day to connect with my message to share with you. The idea behind this, is to limit the overthinking, to minimise the censoring and just to connect with a theme I would like to share for the day.)
