Creating space in your life, for you.
There are those times that arise in our lives when we feel so disconnected from ourselves, where we find ourselves looking at the mirror and asking who am I? When you feel like all you are doing is running around doing everything everyone else in your life wants you to do, yet nothing of what you want to do. When all you want to do is pour yourself a glass of wine and sit on your favourite chair and breathe, that is exactly what you need to do.
Being busy is a way to distract ourselves from spending time slowing down, reflecting on our life and asking ourselves the big questions. We can get into a routine of putting everyone else before us, and ourselves at the bottom of our list, which we never get to.
It is time though to create space in your life for yourself, to discover you, to connect to you and how you want to feel everyday.
You can begin by setting an intention at the start of the day. Instead of waking up and checking Facebook on your phone which is next to your bed, just take a moment to ask yourself – how do I want to feel today? How am I going to show up today? How will this look to me?
You can also then check in at the end of the day, before your tuck yourself into bed, check in, how did you feel today?
Or is there are a pocket of time in your day where you can sit down and journal for 10 to 15 minutes to connect with yourself?
I have personally found the more I have created this space for myself, the more I want this space, and if I do have a couple of crazy busy days where I have not been able to sit by myself in silence, I can feel it. I feel a little on edge and a little “scattery”. I find that really strange to say, why? Because I used to be a person who did not like any time by myself, I got bored really easy, and found it really awkward and uncomfortable to enjoy my own company. Now however I love it, I have slowly over the years increased my alone time and now I crave it.
Time for yourself is a great chance to just let your mind wonder, to connect with your heart, to breathe, to bring stillness to your body, to ask yourself what do you need right now.
How can you create space in your day for yourself? What can you do with that time?

(Day Nineteen: My focus for the month of April, is to blog everyday. I am setting aside 30 minutes at the end of the day to connect with my message to share with you. The idea behind this, is to limit the overthinking, to minimise the censoring and just to connect with a theme I would like to share for the day.)
