Do you have them?
Do you set them?
I have had conversations with people in the past, who talk about how they do not have goals. However, once you keep chatting away, finding out more about them, you soon discover that they want to move their selves forward, they have visions of where they want to be in a couple of years time, it is that they are most likely just not sure what action to take to move them from point A to point B.
So it has had me wonder about this word GOALS. What does a goal mean to you?
Some common goals which people may set are –
- I want to lose 10 kilos in three months
- I want to read a book every week
- I want to spend more time with my children
- I want to buy a new car
Perhaps you have set similar goals to these yourself?
I would like to ask you though, to dig a little deeper, and ask yourself – how do I want to feel? So if we look at the losing 10 kilos in three months – when you reach this goal how do you want to feel? By reading a book every week – how is this going to make you feel? By connecting in with how you want this goal to feel, it really can open up your world to other opportunities and options.
If you find yourself saying “I have no goals to set”, I have three questions for you to ask –
- Are you completely happy with where you are right at this very moment?
- Is there something in your life you want to improve on?
- How do you want to feel in 12 month’s time?
Setting goals does not mean that there is a negative element in your life, it just means there is an area you want to improve on. There is a point you can see in the future that you want to reach, if you want to call it a goal, a vision, a mission. It does not matter. Just know you can aim for this, take action and you can get there.
If you want to talk about goals, are interested in setting some for yourself, then head to my contact me page and send me a message. I would love to book in a complimentary consult with you to discuss how we move you from where you are to where you want to be.
(Day Eight: My focus for the month of April, is to blog everyday. I am setting aside 30 minutes at the end of the day to connect with my message to share with you. The idea behind this, is to limit the overthinking, to minimise the censoring and just to connect with a theme I would like to share for the day.)
