Have you heard people talk about their gut? (I am not talking about gut health – oh yes probiotics are good for us, that is for another day though.) I am referring to that gut instinct, to that vibe you just get in the pit of your stomach, however sometimes you can not explain, and at times it just does not make sense.
Different people have different names for this gut feeling, some call it their intuition, their instinct or their heart. Whatever it is you call this little vibe, how is your relationship with it?
Do you trust your intuition to guide you?
Let me be honest for a moment, I personally find that tough question. Why? Because we live in a world where logic is the game. Where trusting your gut simply because of a vibe you get which you can not explain, well that is not logical. And as a strong overthinker, who likes to work out 27 different scenarios to one situation, and then at times all the off shoots from these scenarios. (Oh and yes I can do this in a matter of moments) The question then becomes – How do you explain to someone the reason you are doing XYZ is because of a feeling you get, however when you look at this on paper you reach the complete opposite conclusion?
This contrast between head versus heart, well at times can be a juggling act. I personally feel we need both to exist. In my world it is not one or the other. It is a balancing act to learn when I decide logic over heart, or when it is heart over logic.
The thing is though, it is not a perfect world. There may times we make decisions based on this little vibe we have and the outcome is not one we desire; does that mean you no longer trust your intuition? Oh I really hope not. It is a relationship you need to nurture, you need to develop and learn how to trust it.
This is a big topic, so I might write more about this tomorrow, however for today I want to ask you – do you feel your intuition?
(Day Two: My focus for the month of April, is to blog everyday. I am setting aside 30 minutes at the end of the day to connect with my message to share with you. The idea behind this, is to limit the overthinking, to minimise the censoring and just to connect with a theme I would like to share for the day.)
